For one of my classes, we had to draw 100 figures in a week to fill up an 11”x14” sketchbook. Other than that, no rules or restrictions.
Needless to say, I ended up with a bunch of stuff referenced from tumblr & the internet. Here’s a first batch of jpop, part Kyary, part Perfume!
(Sidenote on media: It turned out that the quickest and most satisfying sketches resulted from a preliminary wash (marker, liquid acrylic, or colored pencil) to block in shapes, and then some lineart on top.)
Hey everyone!! Sorry my tumblr has been somewhat abandoned this semester, but I’ve got something to show for it!
My last hurrah in my Illustration major required me to complete a semester-long project based on narrative fiction. I chose Murakami’s Kafka on the Shore because it’s so full of imagery and it’s by far my favorite book.
I ended up with 11 book illustrations + some supplemental images, and you can see them all on the website I made here:
